Happy New Year, everyone! Here’s to a happy, healthy, inspirational 2012!
I was very upset to hear about the destruction of so many beautiful costumes the other day. So much sorrow has been caused recently by natural disasters that we have no control over. The willful destruction of beauty by an arsonist on top of that was very upsetting. My thoughts go out to My Digby.

We have just returned from our vacation but I wanted to share with you all that the article I was working on last month for Foundations Revealed has been published a month early! Please feel free to visit their site to see my new tutorial on 16th and early 17th Century cloth stockings!
We are celebrating the holiday with family but I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Happy Easter. I’ve been working on my articles for Your Wardrobe Unlock’d: the Costume Maker’s Companion most of the weekend but I’ve also been brainstorming some new articles and series for the blog that I plan to start next week.
I have a Silver post pending for today but I wanted to take a moment to boost the signal for a very good cause. Today Reconstructing History announced that they will be donating 10% of all January sales (phone, internet, and in person) to the Red Cross for Haitian Earthquake relief. More information can be found over at their facebook page and in the special announcements section of their homepage.
Holiday Faire was a blast. I had a great time fighting, saw several deserving people get recognized for their work, and even did a little shopping. I’m still gathering my thoughts on the fighting but I expect to be posting them soon.
Things will be fairly quiet here this week though. I’m looking forward to spending time with my family but with cooking and travel I don’t expect to have very much time to post. I will be spending quite a bit of time though over the holiday working on my jacket and doing some prep work future posts. And there will be pictures. Lots and lots of pictures.
I hope you all have a very happy holiday and I’ll see you back here in a few days!
